What is LeaderShape?
LeaderShape is a national non-profit association, dedicated to help young people "to lead with integrity." The professional world requires an ethics-based leadership developmental approach. LeaderShape puts ethics at the core of its training. The program utilizes highly interactive programming methods rather than focusing on classroom lectures. During the LeaderShape Institute, everyone is both a teacher and a learner. So be prepared to participate in activities, discuss new topics and challenge yourself personally!

When?
May 12-17, 2009
Where?
The 2009 LeaderShape Institute will be held at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. All participants must take the transportation provided and remain on site throughout the six-day institute.
Who?
No more than 66 UNC Charlotte students are accepted each year. You will be joined by faculty, staff and special guests throughout the week. The program is intended for UNC Charlotte students, undergraduate or graduate, who will be returning to campus for at least one more academic year.
How can I attend?
There are two ways to become a LeaderShape participant.
The majority of our spaces are filled by campus departments or organizations that sponsor students to attend. The sponsorship fee for 2009 is $200 and that covers all food, lodging, supplies and transportation for the 6 days of LeaderShape. Ask your group’s advisor if they can sponsor you or contact our office to find out what groups are sending students. Spaces generally fill up so talk to your advisor about LeaderShape as early in the year as possible.
Each year we also try to offer a few scholarship spaces. If you are interested in attending and do not have a campus sponsor please contact our office, and complete an application indicating your interest in a scholarship space.
Apply Online: application closes April 20th.
The 2009 application will be available as a link on this website starting March 16th 2009. You must access LeaderShape's website through our link to reach the correct UNC-Charlotte online application.

Application Information:
When you begin you will be asked to create a username and password. First select "new user" then click on enter to begin. Once your username and contact information are completed you have an account with LeaderShape and may begin your application. You may save and return to your application if needed.
Be prepared with:
- Contact information
- Emergency contact information
- The Name, Title, Phone Number and Email of - one reference or advisor
- A list of 3 organizations you are a member of.
- Generally prepared to tell us about what your goals are and what type of leader you are.
Note: You will be notified of your acceptance in late April. All participants are required to attend a one hour orientation session before participating.
Note: LeaderShape is an alcohol and substance free program and participants are required to stay on-site for the entire six days.
